All natural meats and cheeses from Boar’s Head Provisions, an expanded deli menu, a new supplier for locally roasted coffee beans, a deli case filled to the brim with ready to eat good food are just a few of the upgrades you will notice when you stop in at The Hungry Moose Market and Deli located in the heart of Big Sky’s Town Center.
“The revamping of our deli got a jumpstart when Boar’s Head began servicing Big Sky this past summer” said owner, Mark Robin. “I grew up on the East Coast where Boar’s Head is known as the best deli products you can buy-all natural, nothing added. I am thrilled to be able to finally feature these products in our grocery and deli.”
Once the new meats and cheeses were introduced, the next step was to try out some new sandwiches. The deli recently unveiled a completely revised menu with additions like a traditional reuben, chicken caesar wrap and a turkey cranberry creation called, turkey day every day. “But don’t worry”, says co-owner, Jackie Robin “your favorites like turkey-BLT, roast beef n’ blue and the hummus veggie are still on the menu.”
Meats are not the only new feature on the revised menu. There are new vegetarian sandwiches and a house-made veggie burger. There are several green salad additions and a new deli case, which will hold more sandwiches, salads and grab and go entrees for a quick bite or to take home for later. The made from scratch soups, stews and chilis will now include two offerings per day.
So what else is new at this local hangout and your favorite place to grab ingredients for dinner, a six pack or a bottle of wine?  Locally roasted coffee beans from Bozeman’s Rockford Coffee is new. “It is by far the best coffee in Bozeman” says Jackie “We are thrilled to be working with owner, Ryan Wilson to sell his beans in the store as well as for our daily coffee and espresso bar.  We love coffee and have trained our staff to serve only high quality coffee and espresso drinks. We just took that up a notch with our association with Rockford.”
But selling locally made products is not new to The Hungry Moose Market and Deli. “We hope people remember we started as a roadside veggie stand in 1994 selling produce and flowers that we picked up from two farmers in the Four Corners area.” Jackie reminds us. In the store today you will find all kinds of “farm to table” products such as organic produce, locally raised beef, lamb, and buffalo, farm eggs, goat cheese, salsas, sweets, coffee, local brews, the list goes on.  You will even find locally made lotions, soaps and lip balms.
“We are so lucky to have a store like the Hungry Moose in our small resort town” says Beth Hoffman of Big Sky Build, a neighboring business.  “The staff is friendly and the variety of food, produce, drinks, and deli items is huge.  I don’t worry if I can’t get to Bozeman for a while, the Moose has what I need.”
And if you are a visitor to the area? Hungrymoose.com is about all you need to know. The recently revamped ordering system for grocery delivery will impress you. When you see the long list of items you can put in your shopping cart, you will think you are ordering from a much larger store. A click of the mouse and when you arrive at your vacation residence, the fridge and freezer are stocked and your bottle of fine wine awaits you on the counter.
The Hungry Moose Market and Deli is located in Big Sky’s Town Center. It is open daily from 6:30am to 10:00pm. For more information, the complete deli menu or to order your groceries online, visit www.hungrymoose.com.
