SUMMARY:Warren Miller Performing Arts Center: Tony & Tina's Wedding
DESCRIPTION:The performance of “Tony and Tina’s Wedding” will be BSCT’s first foray into “dinner theater\,” an interactive evening with the audience participating as wedding guests. With the support of the Big Sky School District Lunch Ladies\, the crew is delighted to bring “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding\,” a production that has been performed in more than 100 cities worldwide since its opening in 1988\, to the WMPAC on Nov. 8. \nActor John Hannahs—Lone Peak High School teacher and athletic director—leads the diverse group at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center\, some business owners\, some bartenders\, others ski patrollers and retirees\, in a pumped-up cheer. While the countdown ensues\, actors employ various methods of managing their nerves. Some do push-ups\, others rehearse their lines facing a wall\, some chat excitedly\, while others are focused and quiet. \nBig Sky Community Theater has been gathering locals to the stage yearly since 2013 with the purpose of entertaining\, inspiring and enlightening audiences. Funded through Big Sky School District’s Adult Education Program\, the theater group comprises volunteer community members of all backgrounds and levels of stage experience. Taiwanese artist Huang Yi has spent years developing a highly specialized robot that dances onstage alongside him\, blending precise technology with deeply human emotion. “It’s a mind-bending performance to watch\, and we’re insanely lucky that we get to see them in Montana on their world tour\,” said Zirkle. “This is one that you don’t want to miss.” As with all fall season events\, this show is great for families.

DESCRIPTION:The fall season begins on Sunday\, October 6 with artist and cello player Gideon Freudmann. Freudmann performs live soundtracks for classic silent films with his cello and real-time digital effects. His imaginative\, original accompaniment breathes new life into this classic art\, bringing the best of cinema and live music to another level and to new audiences. He’ll be performing alongside “Sherlock Jr\,” the timeless 1924 Buster Keaton silent comedy about a movie projectionist who dreams of being a great detective. Freudmann is a founding member of the Portland Cello project and world-renowned composer for the instrument.
